Cohutta Animal Clinic is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our growing team!

This is an excellent opportunity for Veterinary Assistants who are excited to utilize their technical skills to their fullest potential in both surgery and outpatient care, while also having the opportunity to learn, grow, and expand their skill set in a supportive, team-oriented environment.

In this role, you will:

• Assist with patient preparation, anesthesia support, and recovery during surgical and dental procedures
• Maintain accurate and detailed medical records to support high-quality patient care
• Support exam room workflow through patient handling, outpatient care, and appointment preparation
• Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients by checking in appointments, reviewing treatment plans, providing discharge instructions, and answering questions
• Anticipate the needs of doctors and teammates to help maintain an efficient schedule and smooth daily operations
• Fully utilize your technical skills while being supported in learning new procedures and expanding your knowledge

This position is ideal for Veterinary Assistants who enjoy hands-on patient care, client interaction, and being a valued member of a collaborative veterinary team, and who are motivated to continue growing their technical abilities.

This is a flexible, full-time position, typically working 4 days per week, Monday–Friday. No weekends!

Minimum qualifications and skill set:

• 1+ years of veterinary experience in a clinical setting
• Proficiency in:
  • Radiology
  • Phlebotomy and laboratory sample collection
  • Subcutaneous & Intramuscular injections
  • Inpatient care and anesthesia monitoring/recovery
  • Obtaining vitals and patient histories
  • Client communication and education
  • Dental prophylaxis and dental radiographs
  • Microscope evaluation
  • Exotic Animal Experience
